Richard Kirstein – Founding Partner

Richard Kirstein

Richard has worked in the music & brands space since the early 1990s. Having graduated in Music from The City University (London), Richard played in various indie label-signed bands before moving into composition for commercials via music production company Nim Nim Musik.

In 1994, Richard joined Zomba Music Publishers as Head of Film, TV & Media to promote and license its diverse pop, rock & urban catalogue including hits recorded by Bruce Springsteen, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Shania Twain, R.Kelly, Stone Roses, Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys. At Zomba, Richard also struck publishing administration deals with broadcasters (e.g. Channel 4) and production companies (e.g. Aardman Animations).

In 2003, Richard established & ran Leap Music, a joint venture with Bartle Bogle Hegarty, as the first music publishing company inside a UK ad agency. Leap acquired many bespoke scores, all of which were featured in TV commercials. In addition, Leap brokered many hundreds of synch deals for clients including Unilever, Diageo, Vodafone, Levi’s, Britvic & Audi.

In 2010, Richard left Leap to establish Resilient.

Outside Resilient, Richard plays keyboards in two bands, composes music for various production library music catalogues and records emerging artists in his own studio.
