On Your Side For Generations: Music Week Sync Awards 2015
The finalists for Music Week Sync Awards 2015 have been announced, and we make the list for Best TV Ad! The Resilient team are delighted to be recognised alongside our creative partner Cecilia for our involvement in Nationwide’s “On Your Side For Generations” TV Spot.
Regular visitors to this blog will know that Resilient handled the clearance for “I’ll Keep You Safe” by Sleeping At Last, and Susan Stone* at Cecilia found the track. We collaborated on this project, working together as a music supervisor team, the result of which was the perfect track and a smooth negotiation of rights and licenses. Our client commented:
“As this ad was managed in-house, we were more reliant on the music supervisors than we would have been if we have been working in the traditional way with a creative agency. Resilient worked with us from the outset to manage the entire process from initial brief to the clearance and licensing which ran seamlessly throughout the project.”
Paul Hibbs, Head of Brand & Advertising, Nationwide
Since its first showing back in May the Nationwide spot has clocked up over 3 million views on YouTube, and has attracted a huge amount of interest on social media from the public, industry commentators and Nationwide employees alike.
Music Week Sync Awards 2015
The Music Week Sync Awards, now in it’s second year, is our industry event here in the UK. Music Week says,
“The Sync Awards are a worthy extension of the traditional Music Week Awards, rewarding the best use of music across advertising, film, TV, trailers and video games from the past year. The Sync Awards recognise the work of sync teams from publishers, labels, ad agencies and music supervisors.”
Last year our client Gravity Road was nominated for their work on Cadbury Dairy Milk’s Ultimate Lip-Sync with James Corden for which Resilient cleared “Free” by Estelle. This film narrowly missed out to O2’s Be More Dog in the online / viral ad category. This time we’re up against more serious competition; including the likes of Monty The Penguin from John Lewis and the inspiring This Girl Can campaign.
We will have to wait until Thursday 15th October to find out the winners, for further details and tickets visit the Sync Awards website. In the meantime, for those of you who missed it here’s the Nationwide campaign that got us the nomination!
* Susan Stone has also made the finalists list for the Advertising Music Supervisors award – fingers crossed for her.
